Job Overview:
MATE is looking for a problem solving and results driven Production Manager to join our growing team. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire production process, including pre production, raw material purchases and cut/sew purchase orders to ensure production is on time and first quality. Must have 6+ years experience in import production and apparel manufacturing. You will report into our VP of Product.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with design, product development, and technical design teams to plan and execute production schedules according to business objectives and customer demands.
- Oversee the entire production process, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality womenswear ready-to-wear garments, escalating any risk to delivery to team.
- Own program level TNA starting at 1st prototype through TOP to ensure production is available to sell
- Manage all transportation - pre-booking vessel/flights/trucks and making fulfillment center appointments, monitoring cargo until scanned in at the fulfillment center
- Source and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors, ensuring timely delivery of raw materials and components while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor and optimize production lines, re-prioritizing the line as needed based on urgency.
- Review inspections and quality control checks at various stages of production to maintain exceptional quality standards and minimize defects, escalating any issues to VP of Product.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production-related issues, coordinating efforts to address challenges and meet production goals.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in fashion manufacturing, applying knowledge to drive innovation and improve production processes.
Desired Skills:
- 6+ years of import production experience (India, Peru supply chain experience preferred)
- Microsoft Excel Proficient
- Interest in clean, sustainable fashion is preferred
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, start-up environment
- Highly organized with impeccable attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to prioritize workload and understand when to pivot
