Overview:
Oahu Academy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Soccer Coach to join our dynamic team. We have a Head Coach and an Assistant coach position open. Both are part-time. As a Soccer Coach at Oahu Academy, you will play a key role in developing and mentoring youth student-athletes, fostering a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and personal growth. Our coaches are integral to our mission of unlocking the highest potential of every student-athlete and empowering them to become leaders both on and off the field.
This is a part-time soccer coaching position for U9-U14 boys and girls competitive soccer teams.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective soccer training programs that align with the athletic goals and objectives of Oahu Academy.
- Provide skill instruction and guidance to student-athletes, emphasizing fundamentals, strategy, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
- Plan and conduct regular practices, scrimmages, and game sessions to prepare student-athletes for competitive play.
- Evaluate and assess individual and team performance, providing thoughtful, constructive feedback and implementing strategies for improvement.
- Instill discipline, commitment, and a strong work ethic in student-athletes, fostering a positive and supportive team environment.
- Collaborate with other coaches, staff members, and administrators to coordinate schedules, events, and logistics related to athletic programs.
- Mentor and inspire student-athletes to achieve their academic, athletic, and personal goals, promoting character development and leadership skills.
- Maintain open and effective communication with student-athletes, parents, and guardians regarding team activities, expectations, and performance.
- Uphold and enforce safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the well-being and health of student-athletes during practices and competitions.
- Serve as a role model and ambassador for Oahu Academy, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and sportsmanship at all times.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (preferred).
- Proven experience as a soccer coach, with a track record of success in developing student-athletes.
- Strong knowledge soccer and coaching techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture that promotes academic excellence, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Valid CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain).
- Commitment to upholding the values and mission of Oahu Academy.
