Harbinger Motors, a leader in innovative electric vehicles, seeks a visionary and experienced Director of Systems Engineering to lead our systems development to achieve class-leading performance. This critical leadership role requires a highly motivated individual with deep expertise in electric vehicle systems, a passion for innovation, and the ability to build and inspire high-performing teams.

What You ll Do:

  • Lead the strategic direction of Harbinger's propulsion systems: Define the vision and roadmap for propulsion system development, ensuring alignment with overall vehicle performance goals and competitive advantage.
  • Oversee the design, development, and integration of the complete propulsion system: Manage all aspects of the propulsion system, including traction inverter, electric motor, high voltage battery, power electronics, and charging infrastructure.
  • Champion safety and reliability: Ensure all propulsion systems adhere to the highest safety standards and regulatory requirements, prioritizing reliability and optimal performance.
  • Build and lead a dynamic team: Foster a collaborative and innovative team of propulsion system engineers, promoting continuous learning and improvement.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams: Collaborate effectively with mechanical, software, design, and other engineering teams to ensure seamless integration with the overall vehicle.
  • Drive project management excellence: Manage diverse propulsion system projects efficiently, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.


Who You Are:

  • BS+ in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with extensive experience in electric vehicle systems.
  • 10+ years of experience leading and managing complex propulsion system projects in the automotive industry.
  • Proven track record of delivering innovative and high-performance electric vehicle propulsion systems.
  • Deep understanding of traction inverters, electric motors, high voltage battery systems, power electronics, and charging infrastructure.
  • Strong expertise in requirements management, modeling, simulation, and validation methodologies.
  • Experience with functional safety analysis and regulatory compliance processes.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
