General Statement of Duties
Under supervision, individuals care for and maintain the beach area, park areas, boat yards, marinas, buildings and facilities of the four general locations of the Town's beach, pool and boating systems.
Beach crew members will be asked to weed, cut and rake grass, and remove debris from beaches, pools and other areas. Beach crew empties trash receptacles and picks up litter. Beach crew member keep all buildings and lavatories clean and serviced. They may be asked to do general painting or woodworking. Other duties will be assigned as directed.
BEACH CREW WILL:
- Report for work on time
- Perform duties in a courteous, efficient manner
- Wear personal safety protection equipment when directed and/or warranted
- Report all defective equipment, accidents, acts of vandalism to supervisor
APPAREL Personnel will be required to wear beach crew shirts (provided) and appropriate footwear. Beach crew shirts must be kept clean and neat on a daily basis.
CONDUCT Individuals report to the area Pool Managers, Foreman or Caretaker. Sleeping on the job is prohibited. Individuals will be permitted breaks as directed by the supervisor. It is the individual's responsibility to call their reporting location or the beach manager before the designed reporting time if unable to report to work as scheduled.
Personnel are prohibited from possessing, consuming or using alcohol and controlled substances in the workplace. They are prohibited from being under the influence of alcohol and/or controlled substances in the workplace. The Town may require an employee to submit to a substance abuse screening if there is reasonable cause to believe that the employee is in violation of the policy.
Qualifications Must be a minimum of 16 years of age.
Must be able to lift full trash receptacles in order to empty them.
Must be capable of following directions and working with a minimum of supervision.
Shifts include weekends, holidays, evening, and possible poor weather conditions.
Candidates hired into unrepresented positions are not eligible for benefit coverage.
