Job Description Material Handler III -- Material Handler III (CLS) (3rd Shift) - Dallas Fort TX - ( 2100023H ) **Description**

*As a condition of employment, employees must be able to comply with APLLs mandatory vaccination policy as of January 1st, 2022, with exception for medical or religious accommodations. Employees must receive the single dose vaccination or the first dose of a two-dose vaccination by Dec. 3, 2021; and must receive the second dose of a two-dose vaccination by January 1, 2022. Non-compliance is ground for termination for cause. CLS hourly floor operators are exempt from this mandate until further guidance is received from OSHA.*

**Varying 1st and 2nd Shift Postiions.** **1st Shift: 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and 2nd Shift: 2:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m.**

**Overview:**

Provides warehouse services assigned through safe, efficient, cost effective and accurate handling of customer products and material using specially equipped trucks such as sit-down forklifts and order selectors.

**Responsibilities:**

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Loading & Unloading

* Load picked orders or (pull & load) according to policies and procedures, completing appropriate paperwork including Bill of Lading, Pick Report, Trailer Audit and Lot Verification.

* Unload, move, stack and stage customer products and materials both by hand and using forklift or other power equipment, keeping appropriate records and reports.

* Ability to sort inbound freight by hand and separate by PO and SKU.

* Ability to decipher the differences between complex part numbers.

Inbound and Outbound Processing

* Accurately locate and load, both by hand and using appropriate motorized equipment (i.e. forklift truck/order selector), customer product onto/from pallets, trays, racks and shelves according to established procedures and safety regulations. Is able to operate special equipment as necessary, such as order selector equipment and RF unit.

* Accurately count and record number of units of material picked or received and accurately enter into WMS.

* Ability to decipher the differences between complex part numbers.

* Ability to work with high numbers of small components accurately.

* Complete specialized order processing including packaging, labeling and consolidating as required by directions from WMS.

Operating & Maintenance - Equipment and Grounds

* Assign / verify trailers to appropriate dock and/or yard location, trailers locked to dock-lock and/ or chocking the wheels (if applicable), following all safety rules and Company policy.

* Daily inspect and repair or make adjustments before operating material handling equipment, following safety and maintenance instructions, completing the material handling equipment inspection sheet at the beginning of each shift and/or assigned to another piece of equipment; report immediately any defective equipment to supervisor.

* Prepare trailers prior to loading product by inspecting and cleaning as needed to ensure product preservation.

* Assists in building and grounds maintenance to ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean, neat safe and orderly manner.

Reports

* Complete activity and statistical reports as assigned by supervisor.

* Assist in physical inventories ensuring facility and contents are secure.

Miscellaneous

* Provide other services such as sanitation requirement activities, assembling crates (boxes) to contain products, and/or moving loose materials to containers as directed by supervisor and/or team leader.

* Be able to read and follow custom order instructions from the WMS

* Apply the 5S Lean methodology to sustain a safe, clean and orderly facility.

* Position requires the incumbents performance to meet and occasionally exceed standards as set by the company for warehouse safety, food safety, sanitation, quality, productivity and customer service.

**Qualifications**

**Qualifications:**

* High School degree or equivalent required

* Two (2) years forklift/order selector experience required including fork lift certification preferred.

* Knowledge of inventory control and general warehouse procedures.

* Data entry skills required

* Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures

* Ability to operate forklift sit down, non-motorized pallet jack, and order selector.

* Ability to write legibly

* Must have basic math skills

* Ability to make decisions on customer acceptance based on past experience and fitness for use

* Must have attention to detail for continuous mental and visual attention

* Data entry skills

* Language skills - English

* 1-2 years warehouse or related work experience required
