Responsibilities:
- Supervise the material management process to guarantee timely delivery of high-quality products.
- Identify and engage external suppliers when necessary.
- Implement and uphold processes to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Analyze current material availability and project future availability based on customer releases and new program information.
- Ensure a sufficient supply of materials is maintained to meet customer demands.
- Develop and manage contracts with suppliers.
- Assess and approve conditions for business issuance and awards.
- Resolve any discrepancies with vendors, contractors, and suppliers.
- Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms.
- Develop, organize, and report on key performance indicators.
- Oversee the daily operations of schedulers, receiving and shipping clerks, and buyers.
- Manage reporting methods and handle obsolete materials disposal.
- Direct production planning and scheduling based on sales forecasts.
- Supervise production, inventory control, shipping and receiving, and materials storage activities.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet customer delivery timelines.
- Supervise shipping and receiving functions for purchased parts and finished goods.
- Identify opportunities for reducing transportation costs.
- Monitor the storage of purchased parts and finished goods.
- Establish procedures and oversee the execution of year-end physical inventory audits.
- Ensure timely entry of customer releases into the system.
Ideal Candidate Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field is required. (15 yrs exp in lieu of degree)
- 10+ years of production purchasing and materials management.
- 5+ years of experience in a leadership position with comprehensive responsibility for managing8 and developing teams, including coaching and training.
- Demonstrated commitment to process development and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple assignments and changing priorities effectively.
- While not mandatory, experience with Sytline would be considered a plus.
- While not obligatory, a deep understanding of AS9100 requirements would also be advantageous.
