Summary

Working alongside our specialized studio team of art director, senior photographer, videographer, and stylist, the Creative Photographer is responsible for capturing content that defines and delivers our brand image. This includes shooting both on model and product photography. The Creative Photographer is a prodigy of mood lighting in developing exceptional photo captures. In addition, you have deep knowledge of framing, shot composition, focus, exposure and angles and have experience that drives your ability to break the rules of photo conventions while maintaining a professional execution of finished selects. You are also inventive with your ability to create devices and scenarios that can extend product photo capture to new levels. This position will work closely with our creative studio team to both experiment with ground breaking concepts and deliver on the JD brand image. This individual will effectively exhibit JD Finish Line s core values of Customer, People, Winning, Community, and Financial Responsibility in everything they do by performing the following main duties:

  • The ability to translate creative ideas for on-model and product photography that align with the company's brand identity and objectives.
  • Collaborate and plan photo projects from conception to completion.
  • Produce high-quality photo captures using industry-standard software such as Adobe Photoshop, Capture One, and Photo Mechanics.
  • Edit raw photos into polished and compelling final products that meet project specifications and deadlines.
  • Stay updated on global industry trends and best practices in photography and visual effects, and incorporate innovative techniques into your work.
  • Assist the creative producer and team in scouting locations, casting, talent and asset management.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand project requirements, provide creative input, and ensure that photo content meets expectations.
  • Maintain organized files and assets, and adhere to established workflows and processes to streamline production efficiency.
  • Connect with other team members, including art directors, photographers, designers, animators, and marketers, to ensure cohesive storytelling across various platforms and channels.
  • Additional projects and duties as assigned.


Requirements

  • Proven experience as a photographer, working with fashion brands preferably in a creative agency or production environment.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as the Adobe Creative Suite, Capture One, and Photomechanics. Plus, an acute knowledge of your gear and the gear you wish you had.
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling principles, framing, composition, and design fundamentals.
  • Excellent creative and conceptual thinking skills, with the ability to translate ideas into visually compelling content.
  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics, composition, and lighting.
  • Understanding of how to replicate and explore lighting with DxO, Elixxier, HDR, etc.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines while being flexible and adaptable to changing needs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to effectively present and articulate creative ideas to the team as well as directing/posing both adult and kid models.
  • A portfolio showcasing your previous work in editorial and advertising photography.


Required Computer and/or Technical Skills

Should have basic to intermediate knowledge and abilities with Google suite software, and competence in learning how to maximize the use of new software. Should be fluent in both Mac and PC operating systems.
