Assembly Technician


Job Details

General Function

Responsible for supporting the daily assembly operations of the plant.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Adapt and promote Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Active participant in the Elimination of Waste Team Program
  • Support the Company's Goals and Objectives
  • Responsible for operating various assembly machinery within the secondary operations per operator instructions
  • Visually look over parts to assure proper quality, uses gauges as required, per Control Plan / Quality check sheet
  • Responsible for quality of all production parts produced in their respective work cell
  • Responsible for reporting any quality defects to the Team Leader or Supervisor
  • Keep work areas and equipment clean and safe
  • Must be able to sustain the fast demands of an automotive production environment
  • Responsible to fully complete and update all paperwork on daily basis (production reports, PPLH, scrap reports, 5"S" housekeeping sheet, etc.)
  • Scanning and printing SAP product labels
  • Serves in the capacity of wastewater handler commensurate with completion of proper environmental training
  • Other duties as required by the General Production Supervisor or Team Leader
Work Requirements

Knowledge and Skills
  • Usage of a computer, and other workplace machinery such as SAP hand held scanners calculators and printers
  • Possess working knowledge of IATF16949, ISO 14001, and Q1 compliance criteria
Education
  • High school diploma or GED
