**Merchandise Planner**
at Rocksbox San Francisco Rocksbox is looking for a Merchandise Planner to create and execute sales and inventory plans for our jewelry assortment. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starting, sharply analytical problem-solver with proven business acumen. This position will report to the SVP of Merchandising.
**Responsibilities**
* Build strategic seasonal and annual plans to maximize sales, inventory, and margin using historical data and trends
* Forecast monthly in season sales, receipts, and inventory needs. Present financial plans and receipt recommendations in open-to-buy meetings to the leadership team.
* Create daily sales forecasts each month and review business performance vs forecast.
* Analyze product performance to identify opportunities and risks to the financial plan. Provide analysis and actionable recommendations to the merchandising team to improve product performance.
+ Weekly report out of business by channel to leadership. Including recommendations and actions needed.
+ Actively participate in line adoption supplying support with line analysis: example pricing roll up, color break down, silhouette percentages.
* Recommend promotional and markdown pricing by evaluating sales, inventory, sell thru, and margin
* Partner with finance and analytics teams on business analysis and reporting
* Ad hoc data analysis to support the team in making informed business decisions and strategies
**Requirements**
* BA/BS degree and 2+ years work experience preferred (e-commerce, planning, or buying a plus)
* Highly analytical with advanced Excel skills
* Ability to learn new tools and systems quickly
* Financial and business acumen: ability to accurately evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into actionable information to identify opportunities and drive results
* Demonstrates strong listening, written, and oral communication skills
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Excellent attention to detail
* Results oriented and self motivated with a strong sense of urgency
