Facilities Technician II - Georgetown (South Seattle)

Purpose

The Facilities Technician II will perform general maintenance and repair tasks as directed by Facilities management and Facilities Coordinator. The Facilities Technician II will work independently, as well as partner with vendors and other team members to complete all tasks assigned in a high quality manner that is consistent with Neighborcare standards and meet productivity expectations.

** Work Schedule: Saturday through Wednesday 7:00am - 3:30pm. Training work schedule will be Monday - Friday **

In this position you will:

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance and repair tasks, for example:
  • Painting
  • Simple carpentry, drywall.
  • Hang objects on walls.
  • Minor repairs - i.e. fixing leaky faucets, broken garbage disposals, furniture repair, etc.
  • Furniture and equipment assembly and installation.
  • Move furniture and equipment from one site to another or within sites.
  • Door hardware and lock installation and repair.
  • Assist with the coordination of contracted work. Partner with vendors in completing work, and oversee contractor work.
  • Some after-hours work required to meet the routine maintenance and repair needs of the organization.
  • Participate in on-call schedule, including responding and performing after-hours urgent repairs as needed.
  • Use of personal vehicle (van or truck w/ enclosed bed(canopy preferred)), cell phone and tools is required.
  • Update the work order database as work orders are completed and document all tasks thoroughly.
  • Always utilize safe practices in performing work. Communicate any safety concerns to Facilities management in a timely manner.
  • Maintain appropriate facilities security at all times. Treat security alarm and lock codes as confidential and keep facilities keys secure. Report any issues to Facilities management in a timely manner.
  • Proactively communicate with Facilities team members and site staff.

Required for this job:

  • Working knowledge of hand and power tool usage and safety.
  • Ability to work well with diverse people. Ability to organize and problem solve. Good attention to detail and ability to multitask while performing job duties under high levels of activity and a variety of conditions.
  • Ability to prioritize and follow through with assigned tasks and complete tasks right the first time.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions and complete assigned tasks as scheduled.
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills and customer service.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional when faced with difficult situations and emergencies.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English and understand basic math.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Washington Driver's License, reliable van or truck with enclosed bed (canopy preferred) and appropriate auto insurance. Reliable personal smartphone with voice, text, photo and email access.
  • Minimum of 4-years repair and maintenance experience.
  • Minimum of 4-years working knowledge of hand and power tool usage and safety.

Compensation

The wage range for this position is a Minimum $24.00/hour up to $32.53/hour Maximum.

Compensation will be determined based on years of relevant experience.
