Security Guards are responsible for providing friendly and timely service to all incoming and outgoing transport drivers delivering to the Distribution Center. The security guard's primary objective is to maintain a safe, secure and professional environment by interacting with the public, vendors, and other distribution support staff.
*Job duties:*
* Provide smooth traffic flow in and out of the gate area by providing efficient and accurate service.
* Ensure the facility is provided with high quality security services to protect people and property.
* Stay alert to all happenings in the Yard. Report suspicious behavior to the Loss Prevention Supervisor or Management.
* Assist guests, enforce rules and regulations, and ensure access control.
* Enforce and comply with company policies, post orders and corporate instructions.
* Provide a visual deterrence by maintaining high visibility at all times.
* Conduct detailed observations of people and property within their area of responsibility.
* Provide detailed written reports of incidents that occur within their area of responsibility.
* Provide access control to authorized persons.
* Prevent theft of property.
*Education/Experience:*
* High School Diploma or GED required.
* 1-3 years of Loss Prevention / security experience at a distribution center preferred.
