Primary Function:


The Lead Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading a 3-shift maintenance department comprised of supervisors, skilled and unskilled maintenance personnel, maintenance clerks and planners. This position ensures the team supports the operational goals through effective maintenance of our manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities:


  • Lead the 3-shift maintenance team for either the Tank or Assembly side of the facility
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Technicians, and Operations to ensure effective communication on plant equipment issues to optimize uptime and schedule attainment.
  • Working with plant production supervision to schedule maintenance and repair of plant production equipment.
  • Work with production supervisors, engineers, and outside contractors to maximize plant efficiencies and machine up-time based on root cause investigation
  • Develop, evaluate, and implement preventative and predictive maintenance procedures and ensure their compliance.
  • Work with engineering, supervisors, and safety to identify and quickly resolve any safety issues.
  • Work closely with engineering and purchasing to identify key spare parts to be stocked in the crib and their appropriate stocking levels.
  • Drive continuous improvement efficiencies in maintenance key processes.
  • Ensure staffing levels are able to support the level of activity needed to achieve operational goals.
  • Develops supervisors and the maintenance team for effective job proficiency.
  • Responsible to communicate in advance, any weekend or off shift equipment/process work, repairs, PM s to the Operations Leadership and ME Technical Teams.
  • Maintain employee records such as attendance, training, and general performance
  • Utilize various computer programs to organize, monitor and communicate department objectives and activities
  • Administer company policies, procedures and negotiated contract provisions all while working within union guidelines
  • Establish and implement maintenance plans, proposals, and budgets
  • Support the development of new equipment
  • This is a 1st shift position
  • Work closely with outside vendors including requests, negotiation, and execution of 3rd party work.
  • Assist in defining proper KPI s for area and ensure regularly report out KPI for department/area
  • Assist in developing budget (CAPEX/Exp) and ensure department/area stays within operating budget
  • Grow partnerships with adjacent teams/departments


Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Technology, Skilled Trades Certification or related training and experience preferred
  • 5-8 years of experience including:
  • In-depth experience in mechanical, electrical, and electronic repairs of production equipment.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair PLC s, robots, and various computer-based machine-monitoring systems
  • Experience leading teams
  • Ability to lead maintenance team and develop partnering relations with operations, engineering, third party contractors, and other key functions
  • Ability to co-develop strategic direction with other team members and put tactical actions into place to execute on that direction
  • Solid understanding of maintenance of mechanical and hydraulic equipment as well as electrical operating systems
  • Passion and track record of driving continuous improvement based on effective problem solving methodologies
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
  • Proficient in standard computer software such as Word, Excel, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to quickly grasp and implement new ideas, concepts, and programs to improve maintenance department efficiency
  • Adept and guiding and motivating teams to accomplish difficult objectives
  • Availability to work daily and weekend overtime as assigned
  • Oracle or similar ERP system experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of industrial diagnostic and problem-solving techniques including the use of PLC logic ladders preferred
