**Description**

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

* Studies receiving notices, packing slips, and other records to determine priorities, work assignments, and receiving methods required to meet schedules

* Plan, organize, and monitor the receiving, storage and distribution of all items received

* Oversees outgoing inbound activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of received shipments

* Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or makes contact with contacts outside service facility for repairs

* Monitors the unloading of all materials into the Receiving area

* Directs movement of materials from inbound dock to staging area

* Compiles records of unfilled received shipments

* Issues written and oral instructions to the team

* Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates

* Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances

* Prepares composite reports from individual documentation received from subordinates

* Adjusts errors and complaints

* Resolves discrepancies with accounting regarding invoices, packing slips, and receiver prepared reports

* Researches material handling equipment to ensure procurement of the most suitable equipment in terms of performance, safety, and reliability

* Other duties as assigned based on business needs or managements request

**QUALIFICATIONS** (**Education, Experience, & Skills required)**

* Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; two years related experience in receiving with one-year supervisory experience preferred

* Communicates changes and progress, responds to requests for service and assistance, balances team and individual responsibilities

* Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
