Family-owned and -operated since 1964, TFE provides high-quality Fluid Power and Power Transmission products to northeast and central Indiana, northwest Ohio and southern Michigan. TFE is a growing company with emphasis on quality products and service for the OEM customer and the end user.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced receiving associate to join our high volume distribution facility. 70% of this role is administration and 30% is physical, unloading trucks, putting away stock and sorting material.

Available shifts:

Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

1 hour lunch

The Receiving Associate performs a variety of receiving tasks; Verifies materials received are as ordered and routes incoming items to appropriate departments/locations. Ensures accurate physical receiving of materials/product in order to maintain integrity of inventory control.

Essential Functions

  • Ensure proper and timely receipt of goods.
  • Receiving paperwork into the system.
  • Maintain cleanliness, neatness and safety of building and work area.
  • Checks and counts all material unloaded for quantity discrepancies and notifies the Purchasing Department when discrepancies occur.
  • Collects information for damage claims on in-transit damage.
  • Operate a forklift.
  • Operate hand truck.
  • Assist in the stocking of Material.
  • Monitoring Inventory Levels / Velocity.
  • Inventory Report review and research.
  • Inventory (IACQ) Adjustments.
  • Cycle Counting.
  • Coordinate customer return material processing.
  • Bin Location Maintenance.
  • Monitoring Consumable Supply Levels.
  • Support Purchasing / Operations Department with administrative duties.
  • Assist in overall inventory management.
  • Create or work with reports as necessary for special projects.
  • Utilize: MS Office-Outlook, Work Particularly Excel.


Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Two to four years of shipping, receiving or warehouse experience preferred.


Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
  • Comfortable with computer operation and data entry.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings and diagrams.
  • This job requires lifting 50 lbs occasionally.
  • 10 times or more per hour.
  • Lifting ranges from 0' (Floor Level) to 5'.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, twist, and move freely in the performance of the position.
  • Ability to climb in and out of equipment many times during the course of the day.
  • Operate a forklift.
  • Operate hand truck.
  • Communication: Ability to read and comprehend simple correspondence, quote requests, blueprints, and other memos. Ability to convey information in a professional manner over the phone, fax, e-mail, or web.
  • Math: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate percentages, calculate ratios, interchange fractions and decimal equivalents freely, and perform other simple mathematical calculations.
  • Excellent computer skills: MS Office-Outlook, Work Particularly Excel.
  • Must be extremely organized, detailed oriented, an analytical.
  • Must have excellent oral and written skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to multi-task, set priorities and have a sense of urgency.
  • Valid drivers license.
