Job Details

PURPOSE: To machine new components and/or repair production equipment components for the manufacturing operations. Running multiple pieces of equipment to make parts to print.

JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • A variety of set-ups for standard and prototype machining jobs will be performed.
  • Responsible for reworking and machining of new and spare production parts for various departments.
  • Repairing of maintenance parts as needed.
  • Inspect incoming parts.
  • Order and maintain an inventory of consumable items for various departments.
  • Complete lineup sheet for jobs in process.
  • Reports manufacturing problems to the Group Leader or Foreman.
  • Must have the technical competence to set up and operate a wide variety of shop equipment.

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or GED; Additional experience, training or formal education is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in operating all common machining equipment, mills, lathes, grinders, etc.
  • Previous welding industry experience is a plus (Stick & TIG); knowledge of welding is preferred.
  • Must be safety conscious.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand written specifications and procedures.
  • Must have basic computer skills.
  • Ability to design and execute from verbal instructions.
  • Must be a self-starter and have good communication skills.
  • Must possess good organizational skills.
  • Must have excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to use various measuring devices (tape measure, micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators etc.) and must own these devices.
  • Must have above average hand dexterity.
  • Must be able to use math to calculate dimensions and determine speeds and feed rates.
