As part of our growth strategy, we are seeking a talented Tableau Developer with a background in the Property and Casualty insurance industry to join our team.


As a Tableau Developer specializing in Property and Casualty insurance, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Tableau dashboards and reports to support our business intelligence needs. You will work closely with business stakeholders to understand their reporting requirements and translate them into effective Tableau visualizations.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Design, develop, conduct unit testing, and maintain complex Tableau reports for scalability, manageability, extensibility, performance, and re-use.
  2. Work with team members to create useful reports and dashboards that provide insight, improve/automate processes, or otherwise add value to the organization.
  3. Design and maintain data sources (SQL, cloud-based, Excel, etc.) in a scalable manner.
  4. Provide technical expertise in areas of architecture, design, and implementation.
  5. Administer Tableau Cloud and maintain Tableau Bridge.
  6. Resolve support tickets related to Tableau reports and data sources.


QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Proven experience in developing Tableau dashboards and data sources.
  2. Property and casualty insurance experience.
  3. Advanced Tableau development skills required (complex LOD calculations, thorough understanding of order of filter operations, data blending, creation of flows, and more).
  4. Ability to query and display large data sets while maximizing the performance of workbooks.
  5. Experience bringing disparate data sources together for analysis.
  6. Ability to translate complex business requirements to technical specifications and vice versa.
  7. Working knowledge of Tableau administrator/architecture and Tableau Bridge.
  8. High-level competency in Excel (macros, pivot tables, etc.).
  9. Understanding of advanced calculations and statistical functions.
  10. A solid understanding of SQL, relational database management system, data modeling.
  11. Excels in creative problem solving, has strong communication skills, pays attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred:

  1. One or more Tableau certifications.
  2. Four year degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related field.
  3. Knowledge of insurance industry data standards (ACORD, ISO) is a plus.
