Role Overview:
Seel is looking for an experienced, results-driven Controller to build out and lead our financial operations. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in making sure the data is correct, executing on financial operations, building out best practices and compliance, and supporting critical business initiatives.
Role details
- Set up and own the full Accounting function at Seel.
- Support fundraising, BoD and investor-facing materials.
- Serve as a leader to company leadership as well as the business and product teams.
- Manage Finance operations, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, finance and payments vendors, insurance partners, compensation and offers, and general treasury.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, financial reporting standards, and tax obligations.
- Support the product and sales team in monitoring and analyzing the performance of key business metrics
- Stay up to date with industry and competitors trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis, including modeling for risk or loss ratio products (i.e. insurance and warranty).
- 5+ years of experience as a Controller, Head of Accounting or similar leadership role within a high-growth SAAS technology company.
- Strong understanding of financial management principles, accounting standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial concepts to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- A self-starter attitude with the ability to operate in an ambiguous and fast-paced early startup environment.
