Opportunity:
IOP is looking to add an Associate to the Investment Team. This individual will have the ability to gain experience across a wide range of industries, transaction sizes, and all aspects of evaluating, executing, and managing investments.
Responsibilities:
IOP is seeking an Investment Associate with strong analytical skills, developed interpersonal skills and a demonstrated interest in and experience with industrial businesses. The Associate will, among other things:
- Review new transactions with the firm's investment professionals
- Analyze and research market sectors to identify potential investment opportunities
- Develop and manage financial models and analyses for prospective acquisitions
- Attend management presentations and assist in the transaction diligence and underwriting process
- Support debt financing processes for investments including lender outreach, diligence, and underwriting
- Compose investment committee approval documents
- Participate in portfolio company management and attend board meetings
- Develop KPI s and maintain performance tracking metrics
- Support investment professionals and management in the exit sale process of investments
Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of total experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, leveraged finance, restructuring, or other areas within M&A, corporate finance, or related professions
- Previous exposure to M&A transactions from origination through due diligence and closing
- Experience with in and interest in manufacturing and distribution businesses
- Excellent accounting and quantitative skills, including financial modeling, analytical and valuation skills for purpose of evaluating investment opportunities
- Exceptional work ethic with strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills, including the desire and ability to interact with members of the IOP team at all levels, the management teams of IOP s portfolio companies, and external parties
- Strong time management and organizational abilities, ability to take initiative, and willingness to work collaboratively in a small team handling a wide range of responsibilities
- High level of professionalism, maturity and superior attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Position Location: Evanston, Illinois (~10 miles north of Downtown Chicago)
Compensation Range: Competitive, depending on experience and background
