Job Summary

The Food & Beverage Attendant is integral to the guest experience and provides food & beverage services to the guests of the golf course. This role manages the food & beverage service in the restaurant/snack bar or the on course snack shack, providing informal fast food in a high-quality service-oriented manner. The Food & Beverage Attendant performs a vital customer service role that increases sales and ensures customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions

  • Prepares and delivers food and beverage products to customers in the restaurant/snack bar or the on- course snack shack.
  • Accurately processes cash and/or credit card payments through the point-of-sale system.
  • Displays professional appearance and demeanor to customers, vendors, and staff.
  • Ensures the cleanliness of production and service equipment is consistently maintained.
  • Regularly maintains an orderly and clean food production and service area.
  • Effectively monitors and maintains an adequate, orderly, and sanitary display of garnishes and condiments for "self-serve" stations.
  • Routinely, and thoroughly, performs restaurant, snack bar, and/or course snack shack clean-up and closing procedures.
  • Maintains full compliance with applicable health, alcoholic beverage, fire and other local/state laws.
  • Consistently interacts with customers in a friendly and helpful manner.

Work Environment

This job operates in a retail and recreational environment including working outside in the heat or cold. This role routinely uses equipment such as food service equipment, computers, phones, cash register, and point-of-sale system.

Experience/Qualifications
  • Customer service and food service experience
  • Basic cash handling experience, proven ability to accurately make change
  • Comfort with learning new technology (Point-of-Sale system)
  • General knowledge of, or interest in, golf
  • Must be available for weekend, holiday, and shift work

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Seasonal part-time position during the golf season. The usual season is the middle of March through October. (Students who are unable to work the entire season are welcome to apply.) This role is expected to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Based on weather conditions, staffing, and the busyness of the particular golf course this role could work from 15 - 40 or more hours per week during the season.
