The Hospital of Central Connecticut is an acute-care community teaching hospital, we provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services in general medicine and surgery, as well as a wide variety of specialties. Staffed by our talented team of leading professionals, The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides a wide array of services throughout the region, caring for patients from birth through the end of life.

Provides administrative support to the Medical Director and department staff, under the direction of the Medical Director.


Duties include:


management of departmental activity database and patient records


managing office phone activity and messages


ordering office supplies


processing department expenses


reconciling department timekeeping to appropriate supervisor


coordinating multiple meetings and their corresponding minutes and record keeping


facilitation of community education programs and activities


assist the social worker with preparation of documents (weekly handouts) for the bereavement sessions as well as assisting with the organization of the "Healing for the Holidays" annual event.


Bereavement activities also include recording all hospital deaths into the database, researching next of kin for bereavement correspondence and sending weekly follow up letters to family members.

ability to set up Schwartz Rounds sessions


work with HHC Education for CMEs


attend and take notes at planning meetings


create flyers


sent invites to all residents and staff


set up Zoom link for attendees who cant meet in person


work with cafeteria services to order food.



Attributes for success:


1. Proficiency in the Microsoft office software applications, must have advanced Microsoft Excel training. Candidate should be well versed in use of other Microsoft products Word, Outlook, Power Point and Access in particular, and able to support professional reports and presentations using the software. Data input accuracy is required.


2. Ability to interact in a positive manner with a diverse patient and family population, who are often going through a difficult experience.


3. Professional manner when dealing with the public and other professionals.


4. Open approach to work, with ability to ask questions and seek creative solutions to problems and improvement of the work and department function.


5. Critical thinking skills and self-motivation essential. Ability to be proactive when in need of guidance or support.

Qualifications

Qualifications:


Education: 2 or 4 year degree preferred, minimal requirement is HS diploma or GED and three years of prior administrative assistant experience.
