**ABOUT THE ROLE:**

You'll be a part of the Opening Team of our newest location Naked Farmer Water Street. Water Street Tampa is entirely new kind of urban community. The $4 Billion development is a city within a city located in Downtown Tampa across from Amelie Arena. You serve as the culinary nuts-and-bolts in our restaurants while managing and staying accountable for the team. Developing your team by leading by example while delivering excellent service to our guests is our passion. As an extremely efficient individual with a passion for executing food excellence and hospitality, you run a strong kitchen by showcasing advanced culinary and people acumen. In our high-volume operation, you are always looking at food quality, cost, and training as a point of focus.

Staying organized and detail-oriented in a fast-paced environment while preparing high quality food is key to your role as Sous Chef. We are constantly evolving our menu and testing new methods to improve the business operations and our overall experience that we provide to our guests. You will effectively run your station on the line while multi-tasking to train your restaurant team through the day-to-day shifts, to ensure your team is well equipped to execute anything and everything on our menu.

**About our restaurant**: We have a unique model where seasonal menu rollouts happen several times a year. You will effectively prioritize key tasks throughout your shift to ensure restaurant success and focus on the culinary training your restaurant team. As Sous Chef, you will be responsible for leading shifts where the restaurant team will report to you, and you will report to either the Chef De Cuisine or Chef Operator of the restaurant. You will be accountable for ensuring our restaurant teams provide our guests with an experience that goes beyond a great meal.

**YOU WILL:**

* Prep, mix and cook vegetables, using recipes as a guide (and taste buds)

* Lead your Restaurant Team and (Chef's in Training) while delivering delicious food and business results

* You will be responsible for your station, shift and overall restaurant success while managing kitchen culture and best practices by serving as a reference point for the entire team.

* Achieve and maintain Health Department passing scores, holding your team accountable and role-modeling cleanliness, safety, and organization

* Collaborate with your Chef De Cuisine and Chef Operator to effectively manage labor and food cost

* Build your kitchen team by interviewing, hiring, providing performance improvement, and disciplinary action

* Monitor and uphold food quality, safety, and presentation

* Ensure the kitchen is set up for success with all tasks completed on time

* Implement food preparation tactics that maximize efficiencies in your kitchen

* Maintain a tight and orderly kitchen, including storage, labeling, preparation, and all safety protocols

* Actively give and receive feedback, monitoring the effectiveness of your team by providing timely positive and critical feedback

**YOU HAVE:**

* ~2 years managing a kitchen team

* Food Safety Manager Certification

* A strong work ethic (Dependable is your middle name)

* Ability to communicate across all levels establishing clear directions and objectives while distributing the workload appropriately - in short, you can bring out the best in people

* An appreciation for the people you work with and ability to motivate and develop your team

* The willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in whenever necessary

* The desire to grow professionally, learn new skills, and build strong relationships in and out of the restaurant

* Experience finding the best solution to a problem by taking many variables and details into consideration

* A passion for real, delicious food
