Position: Principal Design Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities:
OPENEDGES is building a team in the US to develop a configurable cache-coherent NoC to add to its portfolio enabling AI SoCs. It is a significant opportunity to work on a design from scratch that will enable high performance, highly efficient AI designs requiring cache coherency. This role can be in San Jose, CA or Austin, TX with hybrid/remote work possibility.
- Design and implement a cache-coherent NoC
- Actively participate in the hardware architecture pathfinding and development by collaborating across domains in system designs
- Write microarchitecture specification for highly configurable IPs
- RTL design of performance/functionality-critical core components of cache-coherent NoC
- Work closely with software, performance and verification group
Job Requirements:
- 12+ years of RTL design and development experience
- Experience in defining micro-architecture from a given cache coherency protocol specification on a CPU memory unit and on a system interconnect
- Experience in cache-coherence hardware design to silicon proven production
Preferences:
- Experience/familiarity with the memory and compute challenges of neural network workloads
- The ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment that fosters a collaborative/team atmosphere
- Experience with start-up environments or venture-backed firms
- A self-starting orientation with the intense desire/drive to make things happen
