This is a remote position located in the **Western Kentucky and Western Tennessee** ****regions****. You will be responsible for managing and working with distributors as the Gates manufacturing rep to sell automotive products including belts, hoses, timing belts, and water pumps, and more.

* This is an exciting opportunity for you as you build upon the existing customer base and help grow business with the distributors.

* This position is vital to Gates because we rely heavily on our automotive aftermarket distribution channel to penetrate markets and grow revenue.

**Key responsibilities (to name a few):**

* Driving new and growing existing business for sales ranging from $2 million to $3.5 million annually.

* Researching customer needs in an effective manner to determine market strategies and goals for each product and service.

* Owning and making every effort to resolve communication, trust and respect concerns and problems. You'll maintain an effective communication path with the distributors and customers to ensure sales opportunities for products.

* Implementing distribution strategies to accelerate growth of new and additional products and/or new markets.

* Monitoring competitive environment to identify opportunities and countermeasures to address competition.

* Occasionally, performing product changeovers at customer sites including removing and replacing products in back-office environments.

* Maintaining up-to-date understanding of industry trends.

**ABOUT YOU**

* 5+ years of progressive sales experience

* High school diploma

* Independent, proactive, self-starter

* Computer skills: Must be proficient with the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Salesforce or similar CRM tools.

* Travel required within the given territory for this position is 60-80%. Most nights are at home, but 25-30% of your traveling will be spent overnight.

* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

**Preferred:**

* Associates or bachelor's degree

* Sales and/or automotive industry experience

* Passion for the automotive industry

* Full-Time

* Commission Eligible

* Eligible for 3 weeks of paid vacation + 11 holidays (9 scheduled & 2 floating) + 8 sick days. All vacation days are accrued
