Manager, Design Projects - Food Service 1000 Darden Center Dr, Orlando FL 32837 JOB OVERVIEW:
Food Service Design Manager is responsible for designing kitchen and bar layouts, specifying equipment, drawing MEP requirement plans in AutoCAD, and building ordering lists. Qualified candidate should have a thorough working knowledge of commercial kitchens, equipment manufacturers, and types.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Implement modifications to seating plans and equipment layouts utilizing AutoCAD.
-Develop colored elevations/renderings utilizing Photoshop or other appropriate graphics software.
-Responsible for the assembling of design related materials and document releases for projects to consultants.
-Coordinate with architects on the distribution of plans to vendors for the purpose of generating quotations and review vendor quotations for accuracy.
-Develop documentation for kitchen design elements and equipment rough-in locations.
-Implement modifications to kitchen (back of the house) and bar plans, including equipment layouts utilizing AutoCAD for remodel projects.
-Responsible for maintaining the kitchen/bar equipment specifications.
-Assist in the preparation and issuing of Bill of Materials for Purchasing.
-Coordinate with architects on the distribution of plans to vendors for the purpose of generating quotations and review vendor quotations for accuracy.
-Interface with other team members (ie. Design Project Managers and Construction Project Managers) to identify design related challenges and seek out resolution through Food Service Manager.

-Ability to work with professional consultants, developers, contractors, vendors, suppliers and government agencies.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with other departments and outside business contacts.
-Ability to complete a heavy workload in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
-Ability to handle multiple tasks.
-Ability and willingness to participate in a system of management by objective.
-Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
-Need to know and be proficient in:
-AutoCAD 2010
-Adobe Acrobat Pro
-ACDSee Photo-Manager or equivalent photo management system
-Photoshop, Illustrator, Revit, BIM software programs
-MS Excel
-MS Word
-MS PowerPoint
-3D Modeling is a plus
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
-At least 3 years experience in a design or construction environment.
-At least 3 years experience in developing kitchen / bar equipment layouts.
-At least 5 years experience with AutoCAD.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
-Degree from a technical school in a design or related field required.
OTHER KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
-Has a working knowledge of Photoshop and similar software programs.
-Has a working knowledge of Revit and BIM software programs.
-Experience working with multi-unit restaurant chains desirable.
-Knowledge of architectural office practices.
-5-10% Travel required
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
-Experience working with restaurant consultants and contractors is preferred.
