Are you passionate about making a difference in workplace safety and environmental compliance? Look no further! We're on the lookout for a dynamic individual to join us in supporting the health, safety, and environmental initiatives at select GEA North America sites.

As a QHSE Intern, you'll embark on an exciting journey to develop hands-on experience and understanding of HSE management systems, policies, and procedures within a global company setting. This internship offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in various industries, including manufacturing, service, and construction, while gaining essential skills in safety management and relationship building.

What You'll Do:

  • Focus on a special HSE project tailored to your interests and experience, driving improvements and fostering communication and networking skills across different functional areas.

  • Assist in developing and implementing HSE programs, policies, and procedures, contributing to ongoing process enhancements.

  • Aid in the creation and review of safety training materials, gaining valuable experience in facilitating training sessions.

  • Participate in HSE inspections, taking ownership of corrective actions and ensuring timely closure of identified issues.

  • Contribute to safety incident investigations, identifying root causes and implementing corrective measures to prevent recurrence.

  • Engage in improvement initiatives to cultivate a proactive safety culture within our organization.

Your Profile / Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Occupational Health Sciences, Industrial Hygiene, or another applicable major, and actively enrolled in an accredited university the semester prior to your start date.

  • Sophomore to senior-level standing in your academic program.

  • Availability to work 40 hours weekly during the internship assignment.

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time to other GEA Sites within the United States to assist with HSE related material.

  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and human relations skills.

  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner.
