Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Distributor/Contractor Outside Salesperson. The salesperson will work with the Sales Manager to grow our success in all aspects of sales in the Distribution Channel in Oregon. We are looking for a self-motivated and organized individual to join our team. As a valued member of the Solus team, you will sell commercial, industrial, and lighting controls to distributors and contractors. To succeed in this role our ideal candidate will be ambitious, confident, organized, and a self-starter. He or she will be responsible for the development of Distribution and Contractor customer relationships and sales while working independently and in a team environment. The salesperson will work with distributors and contractors to place our manufacturer's products into stock and will understand and stay current on products to recommend for stock and discretionary projects.
Qualifications
- Experience in outside sales, preferably in the lighting industry
- Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with contractors, distributors, and manufacturers
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with lighting and control systems and their applications
- Knowledge and understanding of the electrical code for the sales territory
- Required to stay up to date on new products, technologies, and industry trends as related to the electrical manufacturing industry, with a specific focus on our line card manufactures
- Bachelor's degree in business preferred or a minimum five years work experience with a proven successful sales history
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to learn and apply new skills quickly
- Read, write, and speak fluent English
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Outlook365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Travel
Approximately 10% - 30% to factories for trainings often with customers
