Job Description:

Zekelman Industries, Inc. seeks a Skilled Trades Recruiter for a hybrid role in Chicagoland area. Reporting to the VP of Talent Acquisition, this person is responsible for developing, influencing, and executing innovative Talent Acquisition strategies that will attract highly qualified candidates for the Zekelman Industries teams. The Skilled Trades Recruiter will also be responsible for ensuring the successful execution of the hiring process and ensuring a positive candidate experience.

Responsibilities:

    • Proven expertise to recruit and interview for critical skilled trades positions in locations throughout the US and Canada, using a variety of sources.
    • Own and maintain key industry connections for targeted talent through industry groups, associations, trade schools, military transition, etc.
    • Organize and conduct plant level hiring fairs. Track and manage success through analytics.
    • Create and implement a structured school engagement program that partners with local HR Managers.
    • Identify external staffing trends that can improve candidate volume.
    • Coordinate with TA Coordinator to schedule new hire start dates and screening process.
    • Manage ATS backend and dashboard for accurate reporting and maintenance of the system.
    • Provide high quality service to our internal customers: the hiring managers.
    • Manage all aspects of the full-cycle recruitment process from selection to placement of qualified candidates.
    • Analyze Talent Acquisition KPIs to improve time to fill and cost per hire.
    • Manage internal relationships with hiring managers and senior level leadership.

Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:

    • The ideal candidate for the Skilled Trades Recruiter role will possess at least 5 years of full lifecycle recruitment experience focused on the trades including but not limited to maintenance, electrical, welding, plumbing and other key roles.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Proven experience with an Applicant Tracking System, Workday preferred.
    • Proven track record as a results-oriented recruiter.
    • Expert negotiator
    • Must work comfortably with individuals at all levels of the organization.
    • Experience managing searches for various locations throughout the US.
    • Canadian recruitment experience preferred.
    • Must have experience recruiting both professional and operations positions.
    • Knowledge of employment law, corporate recruitment processes, recruitment strategies are necessary.
    • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills essential.
    • Ability to be a strong team player.
    • Travel to company locations 25-30% of the time.
