Summary:
The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, analyzing financial data, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.The Staff Accountant will use a broad knowledge of accounting principles and have strong problem-solving skills in this day-to-day essential function. You must have expertise in all areas of accounting including Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. Experience in a high transaction, growth company is highly desirable. Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
- Maintain and Update Accounting Records:
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting records and files with meticulous attention to detail.
- Daily Rental Billing:
- Perform daily billing for rental transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Rental Software and QuickBooks Integration:
- Utilize the rental software system to push daily confirmed quotes to the QuickBooks accounting system, recording both current payments and future payments.
- Credit Card Statement Review:
- Review and reconcile all credit card statements to verify transactions and accuracy.
- Accounts Payable Management:
- Manage Accounts Payable processes with supervision, including vendor invoice processing and payments.
- Accounts Receivable and Check Recording:
- Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) and record incoming checks and ACH payments in QuickBooks.
- Credit Applications and Background Checks:
- Execute credit applications and perform background checks for new customers to assess creditworthiness.
- General Ledger Entries:
- Post financial transactions and categorize records in the QuickBooks general ledger, including assets, liabilities, and expenses.
- Bank Reconciliation:
- Perform regular bank reconciliation to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Transaction Analysis:
- Analyze financial transactions and communicate findings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Audit Preparation:
- Prepare necessary documents and information for financial audits.
- Weekly Reporting:
- Generate weekly reports from QuickBooks to track financial data and performance.
- Sales Tax and Tax Exempt Status:
- Assist in auditing tax-exempt status and filing sales taxes in compliance with regulations.
- Accounting Policy Compliance:
- Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with accounting rules and regulations.
- Professional Communication:
- Communicate professionally using virtual meeting tools like Microsoft Teams with the accounting firm, internal colleagues, customers, and auditors.
- Controller Support:
- Report to the Controller and actively contribute to improving financial processes.
- Adhoc Projects:
- Assist with adhoc projects and tasks as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar accounting role.
- Highly proficient in QuickBooks with a minimum of 5+ years of experience required.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, including pivot tables.
- Ability to work with spreadsheets and different databases effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally, with a professional demeanor.
- Strong mathematical and attention-to-detail skills.

- Demonstrated confidentiality and integrity.

About:Drape Kings is a nationwide event services specializing in rental and manufacturing of pipe and drape equipment, as well as AV-Drop Modular Backdrop Systems, primarily for live events. Along with full-service installation, other theatricals include Kabuki Reveals, traveler tracks, Step and Repeats, event carpet, and many related scenic elements.
