Our Retail Fertilizer Plant Operator serves for success by operating and maintaining fertilizer and chemical equipment. Other responsibilities include blending, loading/unloading fertilizers and chemicals according to labeled directions.
**RETAIL FERTILIZER PLANT OPERATOR ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**
* Performs critical operations to keep the facility running including blending of fertilizers and chemicals, delivery and operation/maintenance of equipment.
* Handles all aspects of receiving, shipping and storing dry and liquid fertilizer.
* Maintains equipment to company, state and OSHA standards.
* Updates and maintains all records.
* Complies with all regulations when unloading rail cars.
* Ensures safety compliance for employees and visitors.
* Maintains all hoses and fittings.
* Complies with all environmental policies and regulations.
* Maintains a clean and safe working environment.
* Other duties as assigned.
**REQUIREMENTS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
* High school diploma or demonstrated experience in agriculture.
* Valid Class A CDL license with HazMat endorsement required.
* Commercial pesticide applicators license or handlers license is required.
* Experience mixing and blending of agricultural fertilizer and chemicals preferred.
* Forklift certification or the ability to obtain one.
* Ability to lift 50 lbs.
* Must be willing to work overtime and weekend hours as needed.
* Computer skills required including but not limited to Microsoft office.
* Cutting torch and welding skills a plus.
* Travel to market areas may be required.
* Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
