Position Summary

Participate in a growing new team within Great Hearts. A member of the small team of Development Data Specialists responsible for constituent and gift entry into Raiser's Edge and other payment platforms (Centralized Development Operations), donation acknowledgement and data hygiene and maintenance. The Development Data Entry Specialist plays a key role in the successful operation of an evolving Development Department of Centralized Development Operations. The Development Data Entry Specialist is responsible for accurately and efficiently maintaining the integrity of the Great Hearts Development database as directed by the Development Systems Supervisor. The candidate should see data as an information tool to help the team achieve success. The right candidate will be customer service focused, resourceful and can thrive in a fast-paced environment with superior attention to detail. This position requires an organized, proactive, and energetic individual who will work effectively with donors, corporations, and internal stakeholders.

  • Primary responsibility of entering and modifying constituents, gifts, and gift acknowledgement. Constituent management and donation entry: collect, review and create individual donor, business and gift records to ensure accuracy and consistency in address listings, gift allocation, pledge payments, giving level, proper and personalized salutations, marital status, gender, matching gift agreements, contact information/limitations and any other information that is required by development/finance staff.
  • Creates and maintains reports & data processing with reports, list pulls, queries and exports using Raisers Edge database view and MS Excel.
  • Inputs data from various platforms into email marketing tools and websites in coordination with Supervisor. Executes scheduling and on-demand donation processing and reporting into outside merchant services processing systems.
  • Manages the daily donation activity, including all online and offline giving, ensures that donations are correctly coded and credited to the appropriate constituent and that daily reconciliation and income reports are complete by the end of day including required gift acknowledgment.
  • Provides support to Development and finance staff when questions, concerns or problems arise.
  • Participates in annual financial audits on an as needed basis.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all matters within the organization with respect to personnel, operations and clients/constituents.

Qualifications, Competencies & Strengths

Education and/or Experience: Relational database experience within a fundraising environment. Raiser's Edge experience 1 years. Knowledge of Blackbaud products, Raiser's Edge & Direct Marketing, preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school to include emphasis in word or data processing/secretarial support or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to learn by example and ability to type 30 wpm.

Certification: None required.

Language skills : Strong spoken and written communication skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Reasoning ability : Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to take decisive action and accept direction.

Additional Requirements

Type of fingerprint clearance: Must possess or obtain valid Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance card.

Physical functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 15 pounds approximately.
