PHD Data Scientists deliver analytic solutions across a wide variety of client applications and help brands to connect better with the customers. They process and integrate big data in data clean rooms from media advertising platforms including the first party and the third-party data and support business insights and growth solutions.


Our data scientists build advanced predictive models utilizing machine learning and advanced statistic. PHD data scientists leverage data to address various types of marketing challenges such as audience creation, segmentation, identifying audience journey, optimization, digital attribution, customer retention, customer behavior prediction, and cross channel customer experience.

As a data scientist, you will develop compelling actionable insights through quantitative analysis, innovative thinking, and storytelling with data. You will contribute to the delivery of smart marketing and strategic advice through the combination of data & insights.


Role Overview:

We are currently seeking an Associate Director / Senior Manager to join our Data Science team. This role will be an impactful individual contributor with the main responsibility of performing exploratory data analysis, predictive modeling, and data queries across a multitude of platforms.

You will develop compelling actionable insights through quantitative analysis, innovative thinking, and storytelling with data. You will contribute to the delivery of smart marketing and strategic advice through the combination of data & insights. Upon proven success as an individual contributor, this person will become a mentor to junior team members.


Areas of Responsibility:

  • Model and build Machine Learning, Statistical algorithms on top of our vast number of datasets
  • Run predictive modeling utilities to define and project (score) audiences for deployment, e.g., clustering, looka-like modeling
  • Assist in designing tech infrastructure and data pipelines (ETL, data automation, data querying, etc.)
  • Present complex reporting, models, and dashboards of technical work to both informed and uninformed audiences
  • Maintain a productive relationship with clients at the peer level or higher to ensure they are informed of any new activities or updates to existing projects
  • Evaluate model performance/model separation to determine cut-off points and output resulting user pools for deployment (in/out phase gains charts)
  • Partner with client data science team to develop new methodologies and utilities
  • Build tools to process, visualize and analyze data
  • Deploy scalable solutions to our cloud-based infrastructure
  • Production of campaign reports and analyses according to measurement plans Reporting could be executed through media platform APIs or through big data clean rooms, e.g., Google Ads Data Hub, Facebook Advanced Analytics, Amazon Marketing Cloud.
  • Support Digital Attribution and Advertising Lift models built in data clean rooms
  • Work with big data and query through big data environments, e.g., data clean rooms or Omnicom 3P data partnerships
  • Develop actionable insights around campaign results to support media investment teams
  • Data Storytelling of results and analyses in presentation decks/slides
  • Consolidation of learnings across similar campaigns
  • Identification of opportunities to automate any/all analyses and identify processes for efficiencies
  • On-going data QA to ensure data used for reporting and analysis is accurate


Requirements:

  • 6-9 years of experience with predictive modeling, databases, computational simulation, clustering, machine learning, and remote computing in academia or industry
  • 4+ years of industry experience with Python, SQL, R, and other similar statistical computing environments
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills; thrive in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Graduate degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, engineering, information management, social sciences or business/marketing related fields
  • Experience working in high volume data bases, utilizing quantitative techniques to solve problems such as campaign analysis, optimization, customer segmentation, and/or predictive modeling (New graduates will also be considered depending on their educational background and academic record)
  • Strong command of statistical techniques and concepts
  • A strong desire to learn and passion for digital marketing, research and analytics
  • Ability to work well with others and work in cross functional teams
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a number of concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to clearly explain complex technical ideas to multiple audiences both verbally and in writing
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong written & oral communication skills

  • These technical skills are listed to give you a general idea about the tools and techniques we use. The tools and techniques you will be using in your specialization unit will be a subset of the below.
  • Automation of data science workflows in cloud environments via APIs
  • Experience optimizing processes on distributed architectures e.g., Redshift, Spark, BigQuery
