Job Description
The Chief Financial Officer will report directly to AGP s Managing Partner and will temporarily train under the current CFO and Chief Compliance Officer. The position will be responsible for overseeing ongoing fund investment due diligence and analysis for both existing investments and potential new investments. Position will also oversee AGP s annual SEC compliance, internal fund accounting, investor reporting and the annual fund audit functions.
The VP Finance will have the following responsibilities:
- Support the firm s Managing Partner and Managing Director for due diligence and analysis of existing and new investments in hedge funds, private equity funds and direct investments (firm has investments in approximately 40 different funds).
- Responsible for overseeing the annual SEC compliance testing and review required as a registered investment advisor. This includes annual Form ADV/PF filings, Form D filings, and all annual testing and review required for the firm s annual compliance program.
- Review investment fund month-end and quarter-end closings, financial statement preparation for investment funds and the management company, and monthly investor statements.
- Work with outside auditors to complete the annual audit of investment funds, and the related year-end financial statements and footnotes, and to provide year-end audit schedules and support to auditors.
- Oversee the accounting and administrative functions related to cash management, investor communications and processing of private equity fund calls/distributions and hedge fund subscriptions/withdrawals for underlying funds.
- Candidate must be able to work on and prioritize multiple tasks, work independently, and be proactive in managing the firm s finance and accounting functions.
- Candidate must be able to synthesize information quickly and communicate effectively. Ongoing communication and idea sharing with the firm s investors will be highly emphasized.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting or related field; CPA required.
- 7+ years overall experience in finance and/or accounting positions, with a significant work experience in the hedge fund or private equity fund investment industry.
- Strong organizational skills including the ability to multi-task, manage professional staff and interact with senior management.
- Strong written and oral communication and quantitative skills, including ability to interact effectively with external fund managers and the firm s individual investors.
- Strong finance and accounting system experience, and proficient with accounting software and Microsoft excel.
- A self-motivated person who is a team player with a strong work ethic will stand out in our hiring process.
