The Managing Director, Finance oversees the effectiveness of finance operations and performs organization-level planning and analysis in support of Start Early s strategic initiatives. This individual ensures excellence in the services provided to internal and external stakeholders through continuous evaluation, improvement and monitoring of key finance processes. The Managing Director, Finance performs organization-level financial analysis for strategic initiatives and reporting of key financial indicators to senior leadership.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you will:

  • Finance Processes Oversee finance process improvements of key finance functions to maximize efficiency and improve the user experience. Works collaboratvely within the finance team and across the organization to develop best practices. Measures progress through defined key metrics.
  • Financial Analysis - Performs organization-level financial analysis to include cash forecasting, revenue forecasting, trend analysis, cost modeling, and other relevent financial indicators for reporting to senior leadership and the board of directors. Assists with the long-range financial planning process and makes recommendations for financial sustainability. Creates/maintains a dashboard of organization level key financial metrics.
  • Finance Systems- Oversees the Finance IT systems team charged with responsibility for maintaining the general ledger and financial planning systems.
  • Collaboration Works across the organization to execute on shared initiatives. Partners with finance leaders to coordinate and present an organization-wide view of financial results.
  • Board of Directors Supports the CFO with preparation of the quarterly Finance Committee meeting materials.
  • Leadership Serves as a member of the Start Early leadership team and Finance Leadership team. Particpates in meetings and activities as appropriate. Serves as a mentor for finance staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA preferred.
  • 10 to 12 years of experience in an advanced financial analysis environment; Minimum 5 years of experience supervising staff
  • Knowledge of current and emerging technology; uses technology and systems effectively to support daily activities; looks for new ways to apply technology to promote efficiency and improve quality.
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat; ability to write queries and ad hoc reports, general ledger software, electronic communications, ability to create dashboards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize, multitask and meet competing deadlines.
  • Ability to lead a team and create a positive collaborative team environment.
  • Highly organized with superior attention to details
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, address shifting priorities, exercise independent judgment, and accomplish assignments in a timely manner.
  • Ability to process and protect confidential information in a professional manner.
  • Must have excellent command of English language and grammar, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to understand, analyze and interpret financial information in varying formats (including general ledgers) and complete required reports.
  • Must be able to work extended hours during peak periods.

The base annual salary will be based on a wide range of factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, as well as business needs and limitations.
