Amani Construction & Development, a locally owned residential developer and builder, seeks a dynamic individual to join our passionate team dedicated to providing affordable new construction housing throughout MN.

  • As a Developer: Amani partners with municipalities to build new homes. We build affordable homes and ensure new homeowners are capable of sustaining their homes. Our goal is to enable people in the Twin Cities to build wealth through homeownership.

  • As General Contractor: We deliver high-level workmanship on our client s projects and meet project goals and timelines using our experience in construction and project management. We build and renovate houses as well as commercial tenant improvements.

Position Overview


This role reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer. The role includes project management, financial tracking, relationship building, problem-solving, and overseeing successful project delivery from beginning to end.


Responsibilities

  • Support construction projects from inception to completion, overseeing budgets, subcontractors, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Coordinate preconstruction activities, bid preparation, and project timelines.
  • Track project progress, milestones, and budget, identifying and addressing risks and issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors to plan and schedule project work.
  • Manage project schedules, scope of work, submissions, and inspections required by governing agencies. Use project management software to maintain task lists, update project status, and generate progress reports.
  • Maintain project documentation, organize files, and facilitate effective communication among subcontractors and vendors.
  • Schedule and conduct project meetings, prepare agendas, monitor progress against timelines & budgets, and distribute meeting notes.
  • Financial management of all project phases (estimating, bidding, project budget creation, negotiation of change orders, invoicing, construction draws, cost tracking, and closeout).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Required Skills & Experience

  • 3 to 5 years of construction experience or equivalent education.
  • Ability to read architectural plans and understand building materials and methods.
  • Proficiency in project management software/systems and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Effective communication skills with subcontractors, vendors, and government partners.
  • Proficiency in preparing and tracking project timelines and budgets.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt in a dynamic business environment.
  • Team player willing to work in a fast-paced environment in a growing small business.
  • Must be based in the Twin Cities and able to travel to job sites.


Ideal Candidate Skills & Experience

  • Proficient in Spanish.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and interest in business development to support the company's expansion and growth.
  • Passionate about affordable housing initiatives.

Compensation & Schedule

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000 - $62,000 per year depending on experience with bonus option

Benefits: Paid time off

Schedule: 8-hour day shift, Monday through Friday
