Job Details

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Director of Sports Medicine, this position will assist the Sports Medicine Department in providing medical coverage to 23 varsity NAIA sports. Sporting assignments are based on preference, prior experience, and department needs. The athletic trainer position is 12-months with weekend and evening coverage in-season. Holidays and summers are limited hours unless your duties require you to remain at work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Evaluation and management of injury events

* Development and implementation of prevention and rehabilitation programs

* Maintaining medical records of injuries and treatments and coordinating with other healthcare providers

* Providing injury/status reports to coaches

* Sport coverage for practice and games with some travel.

* Additional responsibilities as assigned may include:

* Inventory, insurance, drug testing, and some supervision of student-workers.

* EDUCATION: Master's or Bachelor's degree from a CAATE accredited, professional Athletic Training program required

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 0-1 years

* CERTIFICATION:

* BOC certification

* Florida licensure (be in good standing or able to obtain)

* Current certification in CPR/AED

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Positive work ethic

Attention to detail

Ability to work well with other staff within the sports medicine and athletic departments, i.e. work independently, collaboratively, and under supervision

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Must support the University's Catholic mission.

PHYSICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Requires ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50lbs.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work setting includes indoors and outdoors, and is variable depending on coverage.
