Buyer is responsible for the acquisition of materials and services via MRP reporting in a high mix, high volume, tier one Japanese owned automotive manufacturing facility. Reports to the Purchasing Manager.
Purchase stamped and molded raw materials, MRO, bar steel
Expedite orders to meet delivery needs of equipment.
Assist to coordinate delivery, installation and runoff of new tooling from parent company.
Identify and develop new vendor partners.
Negotiate price and terms with vendor partners.
Communicate and lead changes in supply and price within Pacific Industries.
Manage, solve and reduce vendor partner NCs.
Communicate delays through supply chain
Improve, evaluate and maintain supplier performance
Skill preferred:
1-2 years to purchase or assist to purchase steel, MRO components and like
Proficient use of Excel and MRP software
Experience to negotiate terms of delivery and contract pricing
Understanding of importing.
