**Responsibilities:**

* Reporting to the Director of Safety, the Manager of Safety provides overall technical and management direction for safety and health decisions Company-wide.

* Will manage the Safety Department while providing direction and leadership to executive and management staff, projects and employees.

* Be a Safety Champion for the Company.

* Overall responsibility for the Companys safety vision, goals and program for the company.

* Oversee Company safety & health effort in support and in accordance with Nicholson, Vinci, Soletanche-Freyssinet and OSHA.

* Foster the growth of an Injury and Incident Free Environment by providing leadership and mentoring.

* Ensure that all project specific safety requirements comply with the Company, client, and project policies, procedures, standards and all laws (OSHA, state, local), rules and regulations.

* Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects and maintenance facilities to ensure compliance.

* Assist in the identification, control, and elimination of unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.

* Investigate incidents to determine root cause and implement corrective actions.

* Support any OSHA or other regulatory investigations and lead negotiations on citations.

* Maintain safety metrics including OSHA log and documentation files.

* Provide direction to Project Management regarding proposal/project safety planning, scheduling and training functions as required.

* Supervise the work of safety personnel.

* Lead Superintendents bi-weekly Safety Call In, participate and mentor Leadership Team.

* Participation in national and industry safety groups.

* Frequent travel throughout US, visiting project sites and regional offices.

* Other duties as assigned.

**Requirements:**

* Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Occupational Safety and Health or similar concentration, along with at least 10 years of construction safety management experience.

* Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Safety Manager with a general contractor. Experience within the geotechnical construction industry is preferred.

* Working knowledge of safety standards including OSHA 29 CFR 1926 and 1910, EM 385, DOT, EPA.

* Must be a subject matter expert regarding safety and health.

* Must possess CSP or similar certifications.

* OSHA Construction Outreach Trainer; Ability to provide CPR, AED and First Aid training.

* Superior Communication and leadership abilities.

* Demonstrated experience developing and delivering superior training and development programs.

* Ability to hold a high degree of concentration within a loud and busy construction environment. Must be willing to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, which will include all types of weather.

* Must be able to travel up 75% of the time throughout the US.
