Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of ITS Business Operations, the Financial Analyst contributes to the fiscal and operational success of Information Technology Services. Managing a $16M general fund departmental budget, in addition to a $3M fee-based fund, you'll provide financial expertise and support to staff members across the department to enable business planning, forecasting and budgeting processes.

Responsibilities

45% Budget Development and Management

Working with ITS Leadership, ITS staff and in partnership with the Budget Office, you will:

  • Collaborate with department heads to gather relevant information for the annual budget process
  • Build the 3-year operating expense budget
  • Develop a multi-year view of the fund balance and expense budget for the fee-based fund
  • Evaluate and improve budgeting processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the budgeting process


45% Financial Reporting and Analysis

Working with ITS Leadership, ITS staff and campus partners, you will:

  • Track expenses for cost centers and prepare monthly forecasts
  • Partner with project managers to understand financial progress and forecast project expenses
  • Verify processing and payment data through workflow approval process
  • Analyze monthly budget versus actual performance
  • Present reporting on cost center performance, budget variances and forecasts
  • Create ad hoc reports and analyses to support spending decisions


  • Evaluate the financial impact of operational decisions and strategic initiatives


10% Special Projects

At the Director's discretion, you will be asked to take on projects that support our teams, develop our culture, and give you an opportunity to grow in your role.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field
  • 2+ years of experience creating cost center budgets for large enterprises
  • 2+ years of forecasting experience
  • 2+ years of experience tracking project costs


Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience of financial management experience for a multimillion-dollar organization
  • Experience with Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning
  • Experience in a similar position in higher education
  • Familiarity with procure to pay processes


Salary for Announcement

The salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, training, and qualifications.

Work Hours/Type

Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, this position is hybrid with a minimum of 1 day on campus.
