Responsibilities:

A Purchasing Engineering Manager oversees the entire procurement function within the engineering/manufacturing/tooling company. They lead a team of buyers and purchasers, providing strategic direction, setting goals, and ensuring alignment with the company's overall business objectives.


Scope of Work:

The Purchasing Engineering Manager is responsible for developing procurement strategies, establishing policies and procedures, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost reduction initiatives. They collaborate closely with engineering, manufacturing, and other departments to support product development, quality improvement, and innovation.


Expertise:

In addition to possessing the technical knowledge and skills of a mechanical engineer, Purchasing Engineering Managers need strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning abilities. They must be adept at managing teams, negotiating complex contracts, mitigating risks, and driving performance improvements across the procurement function.
