POSITION: Construction Estimator
MISSION: The Construction Estimator works as part of a team with the Project Manager and Project Superintendent to successfully estimate new projects and changes to existing projects. The Estimator s role on the team and in the company is provide a solid financial foundation for a successful project and to provide critical support to the field personnel to keep projects on schedule and on-budget. The Construction Estimator must be able to work independently and possess creative problem solving skills, exceptional organizational skills, and a patient, service oriented, customer first attitude.
THE SUCCESSFUL PROJECT ESTIMATOR WILL:
- Be the point person responsible for leading the company s bidding of high end residential projects ranging from $100,000 to $30,000,000.
- Produce thorough, accurate and timely construction proposals.
- Develop scope and prepare Pre-Construction Conceptual Budget Estimates and cost estimates at Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Document phases
- Produce Detailed Scope of Work Documents for all Projects
- Perform detailed material and labor takeoffs
- Provide constructability reviews of the drawings and specifications
- Attend Pre-Bid Meetings, sub-contractor De-Scope Meetings, and make recommendations to the Project Manager and Project Team regarding contract awards
- Assist in negotiations with subcontractors
- Produce Preliminary construction schedules during Pre-Construction phase
- Assist in qualification and selection of subcontractors
- Work collaboratively with the Project Managers and Project Superintendents to provide pricing support required of all ongoing projects, including bidding and producing Change Orders.
- Maintain a historical pricing database. Extend the capabilities of this database to yield faster estimates and more useable data for executive management and project teams.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of performing detailed estimates and takeoffs for high end residential construction and remodeling projects
- 4-year degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, OR applicable Estimating experience
- Field experience as an architect, superintendent, or project manager
- Familiarity with multiple trades and developing scopes of work
- Strong construction software skills including, but not limited to Procore, Smartsheets, Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- The ability to work independently, without close supervision
- Good communication skills
