**Responsibilities**
The retail merchandiser will act, as a field representative for The Cottage Gardens Inc. Purpose of this position is to create and maintain great looking plant displays at our customers location. This job requires the merchandiser to perform physical tasks as well as maintain communication with store associates, regional merchandisers and Cottage Gardens. Assist our retail partners in maximizing their sales of plants by focusing on improving Garden Center merchandising, signing, proper plant care and watering. Merchandisers are expected to work a minimum of 8-10 hours per week (2 of which must be completed on the weekend) during peak season (Mid-April thru Mid-June). Opportunity to work up to 35 hours a week.
**Qualifications**
Required Skills: Merchandiser responsible for unloading and maintaining all products from The Cottage Gardens and other vendors. Create and replenish sign displays with approved signing. Routine care of plant material (deadheading, pruning, watering, etc.) Maintaining all displays by condensing and culling product. Must be able to work independently in an outdoor environment. Reliable transportation is required. Must have cell phone. Must have or have access to a computer.
MINIMUM PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The person must be physically able to lift 40lbs, and 10lbs over their head. This position requires heavy pushing and pulling of shipping racks & pallets. Must be able to climb ladders. Must be willing to work in inclement weather (rain, snow, wind, sun/heat, etc.)
