The Sr. Student Information System Administration/Developer will be hands-on with the configuration and programming of education operating platforms. The Sr. Student Information System Administration/Developer leads the administration and strategic planning of central school software systems, including PowerSchool, i-Ready assessments, 5Essentials stakeholder survey, among other systems. This role is responsible for maintaining the systems as necessary, ensuring the selected systems are functional, recommending and adding enhancements, and leading the strategic planning of how the systems should change over time.

Responsibilities

  • Provide lead admin support, data access, programming and maintenance for PowerSchool.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve use and effectiveness of PowerSchool, including custom programmed report creation and system simplification.
  • Oversee and coordinate level I help desk support, either through outsourced support or internal FTE.
  • Lead and engage coordination directly with PowerSchool or other connected systems as required to ensure the systems are operational.
  • Lead coordination with other key software partners used in our schools, including i-Ready and University of Chicago 5Essentials.
  • Identify strategic opportunities to expand school software/system support for the benefit of schools and/or the Archdiocese, or consider other software alternatives, as appropriate.
  • Provide training to school staff as needed for PowerSchool and other systems.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to determine data storage and governance strategy between the multiple internal systems.
  • Perform other ad hoc system and software admin work, as needed.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with PowerSchool or other school SIS software
  • Strong database and problem-solving skills
  • Prior experience with SQL, programming and system/software administration preferred
  • Ability to work independently and manage several simultaneous projects with a focus on results
  • Familiarity with school software solutions (Google Classrooms, assessment, surveys) a plus
  • Proficient computer and word processing skills in a variety of computer applications (i.e., MS Word, Excel, Google Docs, electronic calendar software, etc.)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and activities. Understands and appreciates the Catholic mission of the Archdiocese and the Office of Catholic Schools
