Job Description

As Sales Manager, your primary mission at Terra Energy is to drive growth in residential solar subscription sales while maintaining a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of sales management, reflecting a customer-first approach built on your expertise in the field:


Sales Team Building

  • Recruit and assemble a high-performing sales team composed of top talent. Your mission is to grow this team to 10 - 15 people, each closing on average ten sales per month.
  • Onboard new team members, nurturing their growth while ensuring alignment with Terra Energy's core values.
  • Instill a customer-obsessed culture within the sales team, ensuring that every interaction positively impacts potential and existing customers.
  • Train your team to proactively anticipate customer needs at every step in the sales cycle.


Sales Strategy Execution

  • Utilize your expertise to refine and execute sales strategies that generate consistent weekly transactions.
  • Promote short sales cycles, making the transition from prospect to customer as easy and quick as possible.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to support sales initiatives and optimize conversion rates.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Terra s products and value proposition.
  • Educate the sales team to ensure they have a comprehensive understanding of the product and are convinced of its superiority in the market.


Leadership, Coaching & Motivation

  • Actively participate in training, mentoring and coaching sales team members.
  • Emphasize a player development mindset that continuously hones individual skills, motivation and performance.
  • Conduct daily team sales meetings to foster teamwork, facilitate role-playing exercises, recognize achievements and monitor accountability.
  • Ensure that your team is motivated and incentivized to close deals effectively.
  • Employ creative strategies to gamify the sales process.
  • Serve as a positive role model within the company, fostering a solution-focused, growth-oriented and positive attitude.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn, adapt and embrace feedback.


Contribute to Growth Strategy

  • Contribute to Terra Energy's growth strategy by supporting expansion across Florida and the Sunbelt states.
  • Leverage your experience to identify opportunities and challenges in new regions.


Qualifications

  • Proven track record of growing a sales team and scaling quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to excel in challenging and rapidly evolving environments.
  • 5 years of experience in sales management and selling to homeowners (B2C).
  • Familiarity with solar technology and sales cycle dynamics is highly preffered.
  • Proficiency in sales team leadership, including recruitment, training and ongoing development.
  • Knowledge of CRM systems is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based programs.
  • Relentless focus on results, growth and improvement.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment.


Performance Metrics

To help you excel in your role as sales manager, a simple scorecard will be used to assess your performance in 4 key areas each month:

  1. Sales team growth and sales numbers.
  2. Customer satisfaction and feedback.
  3. Contribution to company growth strategy and expansion efforts.
  4. Sales team retention and development.


Compensation

  • Base Salary: $85,000 per year
  • Overrides: $65 per contract
