Job Summary: The Staff Accountant provides support and assistance to the company s finance team. Areas of accountability include month end closing, monthly reporting, financial review, and serving as a communication link with HQ for the finance division.
2. Job Tasks and Business Decisions
Prepare monthly/quarterly financial reports to be provided to HQ Finance. Ensure that reports are sent in a timely manner and answer any inquiries from HQ Finance.
Assist in month-end closing duties, including assigned journal entries, inventory balance and review of invoices entered during the month by AP.
Assist Finance Manager with the monthly financial statement review with local management. Perform financial analysis of monthly results and investigate any outliers.
Maintain and create financial reports for internal use. Become a partner to our business managers to help analyze profits.
Assist Finance Manager with the financial operations of the company covering accounting, treasury management, budgeting, audit and taxation.
Manage the monthly lease accounting requirement and enter all new leases in our third party software.
Assist Finance Manager with the annual audit, as well as any special projects, such as new accounting policies and new banking arrangements.
Supports HQ with Accounting inquiries.
Works with Accounting team on tasks/issues as needed.
Drive and implement process improvement and analytical ideas for the organization to improve efficiency and profitability.
3. Required Experience regarding the job
Bachelor Degree in Accounting
2+ years of experience in a staff accountant or financial analyst role
Strong analytical skills
SAP Experience a plus
Strong computer skills including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook
Maintain professional appearance and communication, both in person, electronically, and via telephone
Independently motivated to produce results
Must have strong multi-tasking and time management skills
Ability to work in an empowered team environment, including the ability to effectively communicate, share information, resolve issues, and give and receive both positive and negative feedback in a respectful and professional manner
