General Summary

The Sales Representative is responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within an assigned territory by effectively marketing and selling recreational cannabis products. This position is responsible for promoting, selling, and securing orders from existing and prospective customers through a relationship-based approach.

Essential Job Functions

1. Develop new sales opportunities and maintain established relationships

2. Coordinate order distribution

3. Advertising, promotion, and representation

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish, develop, and maintain business relationships with current customers and prospective customers in assigned territory to generate new business.
  • Make telephone calls and in-person visits to existing and prospective customers.
  • Research sources of information to help prospect list and quantify the potential of prospects.
  • Identify product advantages and compare the company s product suite to its primary competitor s offerings.
  • Plan and organize personal sales strategy.
  • Complete administrative duties, such as preparation of sales reports and sales records.
  • Prepare and distribute invoices for customer approval and to initiate the delivery process.
  • Coordinate with the Processing Manager to ensure accurate inventory availability.
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints.
  • Negotiate with retail merchants to improve product exposure, including shelf positioning and advertising.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers and clients in person and over the telephone to promptly answer questions and provide assistance when needed.
  • Participate in trade shows, marketing events and educational training for retail partners.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Extensive and detailed knowledge of cannabis and cannabis-related products
  • Ability to show, promote and sell products by utilizing marketing strategy, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes necessary for providing outstanding customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality service standards, negotiation skills, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Self-starter, goal-oriented, and able to solve problems.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and positive team player.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with co-workers, customers, vendors, and management.
  • Ability to work independently and meet established goals.

Education and Experience

High School diploma

Cannabis Experience, product knowledge is a must

At least 2 years of work experience in Sales is preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year plus commission

Driver's License (Required)

Position requires travel within the local area, traveling to office and business locations to conduct business transactions. This involves exposure to weather conditions, traveling distances to and from buildings, and operating a vehicle.
