Engagement Manager - Management Consulting

A leading private equity firm launched by senior leaders from a big 4 consulting firm with a proven record of successfully transforming industrial technology companies is seeking an Engagement Manager to be responsible for delivery of advisory projects, lead project teams of 2-4 Associates, and drive collaboration across various levels of portfolio companies.


This person will contribute to the analysis, design, and implementation of business performance approaches, developing solutions to ensure a positive impact and sustainable results. This also includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing recommendations for presentation to senior management.


Locations: NYC or San Francisco (some travel required)

Salary: Base up to 190k + 30% bonus


Responsibilities:

  • Leading the day-to-day execution and successful delivery of projects.
  • Owning the project planning and process management and communicating progress to relevant stakeholders.
  • Driving development of the content, either directly or by providing guidance to the project team (for example, by sharing ideas, frameworks or providing input on research and analysis).
  • Managing project scope and maintaining an acceptable pace of work.
  • Actively managing various stakeholder relationships.
  • Leading all critical presentations and meetings.
  • Providing apprenticeship and coaching to junior members of the team to help develop their problem solving and execution skills, including sharing knowledge and experience, giving frequent feedback and creating opportunities for team members to learn and grow.
  • Contributing to the development of intellectual property within the Practice Area(s), including improving methodologies, tools, techniques and developing new ideas and approaches.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree from a top-tier university with consistent outstanding academic record (Advanced degree or MBA preferred).
  • 3+ years of business management or consulting experience in a reputable company or a line role in an industrial company.
  • Track record of high performance and substantial achievements in project leadership with proven results and significant impact.
  • Expertise in sectors such as private equity, management consulting, industrials, manufacturing, or energy
  • Solid functional knowledge, including but not limited to strategy, business development, manufacturing, supply chain, product development, or project management
  • Outstanding records of academic and managerial or professional achievement.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in a team environment.
