Assurance Manufacturing is a modern manufacturing facility that is looking for a Material Handler on our day shift. **Material Handler Responsibilities:**
* Follows work order procedures and routings; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions, drawings, and specifications provided for the job.
* Adheres to all safety rules and guidelines. Takes safety into account at all times when using forklift.
* Participates on 5S leadership team.
* Utilizes lean manufacturing methodologies to determine which materials to move next throughout the facility.
* Makes sure part are properly labeled at all times with job routing and/or move tickets.
* Ensures job cards are properly signed off before moving parts.
* Moves parts and subassemblies to the next operation on the routing.
* Performs any required material transactions in WIntegrate including issuing of materials.
* Places parts in defined supermarket locations properly organized so that production personnel do not spend extra time looking for them.
* Helps kit parts for welding and assembly to save time.
* Participates in lean kaizen events.
* Prepares parts for transportation to outside service providers.
* Demonstrates proper part handling techniques to prevent damage to parts while transporting thru the facility or to outside service providers.
* Helps move tooling and equipment as needed.
* Moves scrap parts to outside scrap storage receptacles as needed.
* Maintains, organizes, and cleans supermarket storage locations.
* Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered. Follows Control of Nonconforming Product Procedure.
* Follows procedures in relation to inspection of parts.
* Cross Train in other areas of the plant as necessary to meet production demands.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.
**Material Handler Qualifications:**
* High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required as a minimum.
* Minimum of 3 years in position of a material handler required.
* Minimum of 3 years' experience driving a forklift.
* Preferred knowledge of lean manufacturing.
* Ability to safely drive and transport materials with a forklift throughout a busy facility.
* Basic understanding of technical plans, drawings, models and blueprints.
* Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms.
* Basic understanding of mathematics.
* Ability to measure parts with calipers and micrometers.
* Good teamwork skills.
