Tejas Research & Engineering, a Woodlands-based provider of specialty downhole oilfield equipment and services is looking for a skilled and driven Assembly & Testing Technician to support their growing operations.
About The Role:
The Assembly & Testing Technician is responsible for the assembly, testing, and quality assurance activities for production and related equipment typical of downhole Oil Field Completions Equipment. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a keen understanding of mechanical systems and components.
What You Do
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions to assemble components and sub-assemblies, and full assemblies in a timely and efficient manner, as related to Downhole Oil Field Equipment (examples, Packers, Sliding Sleeves, Safety Valves)
- Must understand and have direct experience with equipment testing (hydro versus gas pressure)
- Experience working within a Quality Management System for component traceability and assembly serializations, as well as understanding and participating in completing product delivery documentation.
- Willing and able to perform assembly tasks independently or direct others as required.
- Experience using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and machinery to complete assembly tasks.
- Experienced with testing Oil Field completions type equipment /products to ensure they meet company, client and industry standards.
- Comfortable working with Third Party Inspector oversite during Kitting, Assembly, Testing and Documentation phases of work.
- Troubleshoot and rectify any defects or deviations found during the assembly and/or testing phase. Escalate design or process issues to management.
- Report on assembly progress and any challenges encountered during the production phase.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks on tools and machinery, reporting any issues or defects.
- Take direction from Production Operations Manager.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring all tools and parts are properly stored.
- Must work well in a team environment. Must be able to communicate well with others.
- Must be prompt and willing to work overtime and night shift.
- Actively participate in the company s Safety, Quality and Confidentiality policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in mechanical assembly or related field is preferred but not required.
- 5 10 years of direct assembly and pressure testing experience specifically for downhole Oil Field Equipment
- Must be mechanically inclined, able to assemble equipment based on assembly drawings
- Proficient using Excel or Word, e-mail
