An established Michigan-owned and operated heavy equipment company, with a history spanning over 60 years, is in search of an experienced full-time Field Service Technician for their RICHMOND branch. This position offers a Monday to Friday day shift schedule, with the benefit of returning home nightly. The ideal candidate should possess a CDL-B with air brakes and have the potential to park the truck at their residence.
Responsibilities:
- Regular travel around designated areas in Michigan in a company-issued field service truck to and from a customer location to repair equipment
- Diagnostics, repair, and maintenance of off-road heavy equipment Diesel engines
- Braking systems
- Driveline including clutch, flywheel, transmissions, and differentials
- Steering mechanisms and suspensions
- Electrical & hydraulic systems
- Mechanical systems
- Welding, cutting and fabricating
- Requisitioning parts and securing any equipment or trucking needed to complete repair
- Utilizing tablet/laptop to update job notes daily
Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver s license
- CDL B with air brakes
- Heavy equipment repair training or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of heavy equipment experience
- Field/fleet service experience preferred
- Able to use hands to perform activities involving holding, grasping, turning and pulling
- Able to perform work on uneven surfaces, frequently climb ladders and on/off equipment, and work from various heights
- Able to work in conditions that include loud noise and fumes, work on and around heavy and moving machinery, bend, walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hand tools
- Must be able to pass a background/credit check and drug screening
