Conexon is a rapidly expanding enterprise collaborating with Rural Electric Cooperatives to establish cutting-edge fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks nationwide. We are dedicated to bringing high-quality connectivity to rural communities.

In this pivotal role, you will join our Conexon Connect operations team in Mississippi. Your primary responsibility will be to install, maintain, and repair FTTX broadband and voice services for customers. Additionally, you will oversee quality control processes for fellow installation technicians in your designated area, ensuring excellence in every project. Your role also encompasses the crucial responsibility of managing inventory distribution among technicians within the territory. You will play a key part in performing installations of ONTs, network interface devices (NID), and conducting wiring for new and existing FTTX broadband, voice, and Special Circuit subscriber services. Furthermore, your duties extend to encompass the vital task of performing underground fiber cable locating.

Requirements

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Install FTTX broadband service for both residential and commercial customers.
  • Swiftly restore customer services following trouble ticket dispatch.
  • Perform interior and exterior cabling of fiber optic and category 6 ethernet cables.
  • Conduct quality control assessments of work executed by fellow technicians.
  • Perform underground fiber cable locating.
  • Allocate equipment and materials to technicians and clients.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels at each project location.
  • Document inventory assignments meticulously within the inventory system.
  • Prepare and submit requisitions for approval.
  • Collaborate with field personnel to guarantee sufficient inventory levels.
  • Ensure accuracy in inventory reconciliation.
  • Update equipment linked to customers efficiently.
  • Thoroughly document processes and procedures to ensure clarity.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as directed by management.


Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required (college degree preferred).
  • Over 5 years of experience in FTTX installation implementation.
  • GLDS and NISC experience.
  • Proficiency in P.C. and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Competence in using optical test equipment, including fusion splicers and OTDRs.
  • Safe operation of a company vehicle.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Self-initiative to work remotely with limited supervision.
  • Strong leadership qualities.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 100 pounds
